    Taranto 2026 seaplanes flying between Puglia and Albania

    Two days of initiatives between Polignano, Brindisi, and Valona – on the occasion of the Brindisi-Valona
    Regatta

    The Seaplanes of the Italian Maritime Aviation with the livery of the XX Mediterranean Games – Taranto
    2026 in flight on the waters of Puglia and Albania on the occasion of the XII Regatta Brindisi-Valona and the festival Il libro Possibile 2023 binding itself to a wider agreement of collaboration between Aviazione Marittima Italiana and Puglia Region and the Regional Agency ASSET for the use of the seaplanes for activities of control of the territory but also for the promotion of short distance tourist links.

    Friday, July 7 th two light seaplanes branded Taranto 2026 will be stationed for the whole day in the area of the port of Polignano – in collaboration with the Municipality and the Company Cala Ponte – on the occasion of the talk dedicated to the Mediterranean Games scheduled at 7.30 pm in Piazza San Benedetto as part of the festival Il libro Possibile.

    The seaplanes will also be open in the presence of pilots from 11.00 am to 12.30 and from 16 th to
    19 th. Saturday, July 8th third seaplane departed from Bari airport with on board the director of the
    Organizing Committee Taranto 2026, Elio Sannicandro, and the RAI announcer Metis Di Meo to reach Valona, where the meeting with the President of Albania Edi Rama, the Italian Ambassador Fabrizio Bucci, the Honorable Mauro D’Attis representing the Government, and the American director Abel Ferrara. Then the seaplane with the authorities on board, flew past the coast of Orikum the 37 offshore boats racing for the last day of the Brindisi-Valona race. In the afternoon the award ceremony with authorities who in the greetings spoke of the strengthening of the bond of friendship between Albania and Puglia, the work that is taking place for Corridor 8, the joint cooperation projects on water, ports, transport, and environment, and the 2026 Mediterranean Games. In fact, the occasion is also the first in the series of meetings scheduled in the 26 countries participating in the Games to promote the Taranto 2026 edition. The ceremony also referred to cultural initiatives – in the presence of Abel Ferrara who worked in Puglia – with the participation of Albanian ministers for Culture and Transport, and the mayors of Vlora, Ermal Dredha and Brindisi, Giuseppe Marchionna.
